PRAIRIEHOME COLONY SCHOOL- Prairiehome Colony School is located east of Wrentham (from the junction of highways 36 and 61 16 km east on highway 61 north 0.5 km on range road 153). Prairiehome Colony School has approximately 23 students with a staff of 3.
Temporary Colony Educational Assistant approximately 27 hours/week
(Monday Thursday - 8:45 a.m. 3:25p.m; Friday 8:30 11:30)
We are looking for a temporary educational assistant from the start of the school year until October 31 2025 (or upon the return of the individual on leave). The first day of work is August 25 2025 with three (3) hours of orientation and the first full day is August 27.
Ideally candidates will:
- be prepared to always demonstrate respect for Hutterite culture traditions and beliefs.
- have a positive attitude about children learning and schools.
- have a critical role in instruction under the supervision of the teacher.
- be able to work well independently with the teacher and with the school learning team
- Provide support to students on a 1:1 basis or with small group instruction.
- support English Language Learners in language acquisition (primarily in early literacy and numeracy)
This position commences August 25 2025 and concludesOctober 31 2025 or until the return of the incumbent whichever occurs first.
