Responsibilities:
The Director of Billing and Quality Care oversees the medical billing and quality care processes for Mercer Medicine ensuring compliance efficiency and high standards to mitigate potential risks impacting operations reputation or profitability. The Director is responsible for understanding and ensuring adherence to coding and quality care regulations analyzing departmental performance and implementing improvement plans to optimize billing and enhance patient care quality. This position also includes the ability to produce and present detailed reports on billing and quality metrics and to provide training to improve team performance and support the achievement of quality care standards.
Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration Healthcare Administration or other healthcare related field and at least five years of prior relevant experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders including but not limited to providers billing staff patients and Mercer Medicine leadership.
Ability to build and lead a team. Experience in streamlining processes and project management preferred.
Knowledge of third-party reimbursement procedures.
Coding (CPT ICD-9 and ICD-10) knowledge.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to work under pressure and balance multiple competing priorities.
Ability to operate with a high level of independence and initiative.
