SUMMARY

Under general supervision performs semiskilled building maintenance and repair requiring a working knowledge of plumbing and minor electrical work. Also performs related work as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Dismantles machines or equipment replaces defective parts and motors and adjusts feed mechanisms.
• Cleans and lubricates machine parts such as shafts pulleys gears and bearings using rags brushes grease gun and oil can.
• Replaces or repairs machine belts.
• Removes dust dirt grease and waste material from machines.
• Paints machines or equipment to prevent corrosion.
• Bends cuts and threads pipe cuts openings in walls ceilings and floors for pipes and seals pipe joints with sealing compound.
• Patches or replaces plaster or plaster board and paints walls ceilings and trim of building.
• Clears clogged drains and replaces plumbing fixtures.
• May operate welding machine to repair or join metal parts.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Basic mechanical trade knowledge.
• Standard tools materials methods and practices involved in building maintenance and repair including plumbing electrical and painting

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must be able to reach bend extend and lift 50-60 pounds. Work at a height of 20 feet to 85 feet above the ground.

• The work environment may require working in the cooler room with varying degrees of temperature and may include contact with water or dairy liquids.
• Exposed to a noise level of 90 decibels. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate/high. Wet/slippery work conditions.
