Title: Production Painter
Direct Report: Print/Paint Manager
Location: CIP Cincinnati office
Position Summary
The Production Painter is a vital part of the dcor designs created at CIP. Our Painters help prepare surfaces mix paints for different needs and apply them with various types of brushes and spray guns. You will be responsible for setting up monitoring and painting the assigned products with attention to detail and quality.
Responsibilities
- Applies coats of paint varnish stain enamel or lacquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces trimmings and fixtures of buildings and other structures: Reads work order or receives instructions from supervisor regarding painting.
- Smooths surfaces using sandpaper brushes or steel wool and removes old paint from surfaces using paint remover scraper or wire brush to prepare surfaces for painting.
- Select premixed paints or mixes required portions of pigment oil and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colors.
- Paints surfaces using brushes spray guns or paint rollers.
- Simulates wood grain marble brick or tile effects.
- Applies paint with cloth brush sponge or fingers to create special effects.
- Cleaning machines equipment and work areas using water solvents and other cleaning aids
- Following safeguards rules and regulations
- Adheres to all company policies procedures and business ethics codes
- Aptitude for problem solving and troubleshooting
- Other duties as needed
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Experience using various paint brushes and spray guns (gravity and air fed)
- Good color vision and aesthetic instincts
- Familiarity with painting tools and materials
- Time management skills to ensure tasks are completed on schedule
- Ability to collaborate with others and work independently
- Ability to communicate information clearly
- Attention to detail and quality required
- High School Diploma
- Reliable transportation to and from work
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting and moving materials up to 50 lbs.
- Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment may include exposure to noise dust and varying temperatures.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing floor with exposure to machinery noise and potential hazards
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
