Community Short Breaks Practitioner (Play Leader)

Salary: 29000 per annum pro rata (Plus 1775 London Allowance)

Location: Ealing London

Contract/Hours: Permanent / Part Time 8 hours per week Saturday including additional School Hours School Holidays and weekends.

Closing date for application is 3rd July with interviews provisionally scheduled for 7th July

A bit about the role

We want to give them every opportunity that a non-disabled child takes for granted.

Ealing activities Community Short Breaks where we provide a home from home experience for children and young people aged 1119 with disabilities and additional needs. More than just a service Haydock is a warm welcoming place where young people feel safe valued and supported. Through personalised sessions we help them build independence form friendships and enjoy a nurturing environment away from home while also giving families essential respite. Children can attend for daytime sessions gaining confidence social connections and life skills. Our goal is to nurture each young persons journey into adulthood through fun meaningful and empowering independence-building experiences.

This role doesnt require formal qualifications as a Play Leader youll need a positive attitude a caring nature and a genuine passion for helping others. Youll receive full training and continued support from a friendly inclusive team that values every contribution. Best of all every shift is a chance to make a real difference and brighten a childs day.

How youll help to create brighter futures

Some key responsibilities of the Community Short Breaks Practitioner role are to;

  • Lead and work as part of a team supporting children and young people to reach their potential by focusing on meeting social emotional health and personal care needs for all our service users acknowledging individual interests and needs.
  • Have fun engage and interact with children and young people that take part in activities in the local community such as climbing water sports go karting and visits to local farms and parks.
  • Record outcomes for children and supporting colleagues.
  • Take responsibility for the safety care and engagement of children instilling a culture of continuous improvement through dialogue with the young people parents and professional colleagues to ensure each child is supported to achieve the best outcomes.

Lets talk about you

  • To be able to demonstrate experience in working with children and have knowledge of disabilities.
  • Working within a multi-agency social care early years or health environment and applying safeguarding procedures.
  • Ability to lead direct and supervise and where necessary to manage and deliver .
  • Ability to communicate effectively and engagingly and to maintain independent professional relationships boundaries.
