Your Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate/Metallurgical Engineer to join our Track and Civil Assets Engineering team based in Brisbane. This is a rare chance to apply your materials expertise on a variety of complex and meaningful projects that span the entire Queensland Rail network.
In this role youll work closely with internal engineering teams maintenance crews and external suppliers to ensure the integrity and longevity of our infrastructure and rollingstock assets.

About you
Qualifications
Hold a degree in Metallurgical or Materials Engineering. Applicants with a Mechanical Engineering qualification may be considered where their area of specialisation is relevant.
International qualifications must be recognised under the Washington Accord/demonstrated through an entry-to-practice competency assessment awarded by Engineers Australia and accepted by Queensland Rail.
Work environment
Whilst there will be a combination of office and field-based work its important to know that you can expect to spend time outdoors moving around operational sites and using specialist equipment to carry out your work which at times can be physically demanding.
Youll be responsible for managing the full metallography process from collecting field samples through to laboratory preparation and final microscopic analysis.
