Job Description
The June Harless Center at Marshall University is seeking a dynamic and innovative STEAM Education Specialist to support and advance rural education through the integration of Science Technology Engineering Arts and Mathematics ( STEAM ). This position plays a key role in designing implementing and evaluating STEAM -focused educational initiatives that align with the Centers mission to improve teaching and learning in rural communities. Coordinate the Shewey Science Academy including planning curriculum development logistics and stakeholder engagement. Design and deliver engaging standards-aligned STEAM curriculum and professional development for K-12 educators in rural settings. Develop and facilitate professional learning sessions in STEAM curriculum Design Thinking and Instructional Rounds. Collaborate with school districts teachers and community partners to implement STEAM initiatives that promote equity and innovation in education. Facilitate hands-on workshops classroom modeling and coaching to support effective STEAM instruction. Write and manage grants to support STEAM -related projects research and outreach. Develop and manage STEAM -related programs partnerships and initiatives. Conduct research and evaluation to assess the impact of STEAM programs and contribute to scholarly dissemination. Support the integration of emerging technologies (e.g. robotics coding maker-spaces AR/VR) into rural classrooms. Represent the June Harless Center at conferences community events and statewide/national education networks. Contribute to the Centers strategic planning and continuous improvement efforts.
