Director - Lorain county

Looking for a leader for Catholic Charities Lorain County. This position will oversee a diversity of prevention and behavioral health programs including mentoring case management school-based programming and other services. This position will also be responsible for developing new programs to meet the needs of individuals and families in Lorain County. Looking for individuals who understands the Lorain community needs ability to design and monitor outcome-driven programming and ability to engage a diversity of stakeholders including regulatory agencies community leaders and funders to support our mission. Strong management and operation skills required while aligned with the Catholic mission values and teaching principles.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the activities of this position and relevant programs are consistent with the mission vision and values of Catholic Charities Diocese of Cleveland.
  • Plan examine analyze and evaluate operations.
  • Direct and control activities of day-to-day operations to accomplish operational objectives.
  • Responsible for program planning and performance in all site programs and services.
  • Develop and recommend short and long-range objectives consistent with site/corporations guidelines.
  • Keep governing authority and funding bodies informed of quality assurance and performance improvement activities and findings.
  • Recommend plans and budgets and conduct activities in accordance with approved plans and budgets within limits of approval.
  • Oversee proposals and reports to major funding sources. May seek funding for program(s) expansion.
  • Coordinate activities with interrelated activities of other sites for optimum efficiency and economy.
  • Collaborate within Catholic Charities system including but not limited to personnel and programs.
  • Ensure that programs conform with local state and federal governmental regulations.
  • Maintain appropriate communications within and between various program areas within the site.
  • Develop relationships with clients businesses community and civic organizations to promote goodwill.
  • Review organization and staffing plans to ensure that they are consistent and adequate for attainment of objectives.
  • Initiate personnel actions such as recruitment selection transfers promotions and disciplinary or dismissal measures for professional and support staff.
  • Insist on all staff adhering to mission vision of organization and optimal customer service.
  • Give work directives resolve problems and set deadlines to ensure completion of operational functions; supervise management team.
  • Administer salary and human resources policy programs and evaluate employee performance.
  • Perform other duties as necessary to accomplish objectives.

Requirements

  • Combination of education and experience normally represented by a Masters Degree in Social Work Human Services Public or Business Administration or related field.
  • From five to seven years fiscal administrative and supervisory experience required with experience in grant and fund solicitation preferred.
  • Must have five years of management experience in social service agency or private sector required.
  • Must have knowledge in a variety of fields of service and problem areas pertinent to the operations of the site.
  • Must have the ability to relate to a wide variety of persons both professional and volunteers as well as organizations and systems both public and private.
  • Must have the ability to effectively manage a variety of concurrent and varying activities.
  • Must have excellent oral written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must have excellent leadership and organizational skills strong detail oriented skills with the ability to supervise and work as part of a team.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be able to coordinate prioritize and respond to multiple issues at the same time.
  • Willingness to work a diverse schedule that may include evenings and weekends.
  • Good working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software.
  • Final applicant is required to be fingerprinted to complete background check.
