Job Description

GDMS Space Network Systems Engineers analyze design develop and test GDMS systems to ensure the integration of software hardware reliability maintainability safety and other requirements in the total engineering effort.
Responsibilities include requirements analysis requirements definition requirements management functional analysis performance analysis system design trade studies systems integration and test (verification) validation and interface definition studies of system elements. Tasks may include formulating operational concepts; performing mission functional cost-benefit and risk analysis; developing signal processing architecture and overall system architecture.
Our systems typically include switching/routing functionality implemented in hardware and software/firmware for space-based systems. In addition to the general systems engineering qualification stated above highly qualified candidates have work experience with network design including physical and logical interfaces. Working knowledge of related networking test and analysis tools is a plus.

Experience in Python scripting
Experience with SmallSats and CubeSats development
Experience in computer networking protocols and specifically Switch and Router Networking solutions (packet processing TCP/IP MPLS DSCP VPN ESP VLAN QoS ToS IPV4/6 TCP/UDP and HAIPE NETCONF)
High-speed networking solutions including YANG network data model
Network device routing and forwarding testing
Embedded systems hardware architecture processor architecture and switch/router OS
Cryptography and security experience (i.e. CISSP or similar security certifications) a plus
Basic familiarity of Cross Domain Solutions including Black/Red networking
TRL/MRL experience especially as it relates to space environments
Experience with Agile hardware software or firmware development
Experience with Digital Engineering/Model Based Systems Engineering
Experience in Space Payloads

Target salary range: USD $115674.00/Yr. - USD $128325.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Basic Qualifications
Requires a Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering or a related Science Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 5 years of job-related experience or a Masters degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: *Obtainable Clearance*
Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities U.S. citizenship is required.
