Responsible for administrative duties in addition to patient care. The Medical Assistant performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative / operational / customer support assignments. Performs computations. Typically works on semi-routine assignments. Responsible for decisions focusing on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments. CenterWell Medical Assistants work within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards but has some latitude over prioritization/timing while working under minimal direction. Medical Assistants follow standard policies/practices that allow for some opportunity for interpretation/deviation and/or independent discretion.
CenterWell is seeking a dedicated compassionate and experienced Float Medical Assistant - who is interested in growing with the company and being a part of something great!
Please note: This is a FLOAT position and will require you to work between offices as business needs require. Mileage will be reimbursed for travel between clinics.

Medical Assistant Role Overview:
- Prepare patients for examinations including taking vitals
- Recording & updating patient medical histories in electronic medical records software
- Performing routine tests and/or screenings such as mammograms colorectal screening and EKGs
- Preparing and administering medications including intramuscular intradermal and subcutaneous injectionsincluding vaccinations/immunizations as directed by a physician or other licensed provider
- Counseling patients on medication and special diets
- Wound care and changing dressings
- Sterilizing and cleaning equipment and ensuring maintenance of examination rooms
- Collaborates closely with physicians and nurses to ensure top level patient care
- Highly accurate in collecting phlebotomy samples from senior-aged patients
Vaccine Policy:
- Humana and its affiliates encourages primary vaccination and an initial booster for forward-facing staff except in cases of approved exceptions in keeping with existing policy.
- We recommend eligible team members receive COVID-19 boosters perCDC guidance including the updated booster with specific protection for Omicron variants but vaccination is not a requirement of employment.
- Masks are required regardless of vaccination status unless you are eating drinking or are working in an office alone.

Required
Successful completion of MA school/training program or a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or 5 years of experience and approval from Provider
High school diploma or equivalent
CPR Certified
This role is considered patient facing and is part of the companys Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role you will be required to be screened for TB
Preferred
Certified or Registered (Arizona Indiana & South Carolina candidates require Medical Assistant Certification or Registration)
Phlebotomy experience Medication/vaccine administration experience
1 years MA experience
Value Based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS CPT/ICD coding and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish - must pass proficiency exam prior to foreign language communication

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills knowledge experience education certifications etc.Description of Benefits
