Join Our Company as the Country Medical Director in Sweden

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader to serve as the Country Medical Director (CMD) for our company in Sweden. In this pivotal role you will be a Senior Medical Leader guiding our medical affairs organization and driving impactful initiatives that enhance patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the Medical Affairs (MA) strategy for Sweden ensuring alignment with global objectives.

  • Country Medical Affairs Plans (CMAPs): strategically guide the creation and ensure execution of the CMAPs including tactical deliverables for each therapeutic area.

  • Country Leadership Team: Represents Medical Affairs and is the medical voice in the country executive leadership team.

  • Managing High-Performing Medical Affairs Team: Build and maintain a compliant innovative and collaborative MA organization recruiting top talent and fostering professional development.

  • Portfolio Management: Oversee our entire portfolio balancing global and local priorities while managing resources effectively.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: collaborating with various local and regional functions to advocate for Medical Affairs teams interests (e.g. Global Clinical Trial Operations Regional and Global Medical and Scientific Affairs local commercial and market access organization etc.)

  • External Engagement and collaboration with Key Stakeholders: Serve as the scientific expert and executive leader engaging with key stakeholders including healthcare professionals insurers and policymakers.

Qualifications:

  • Education: MD degree.

  • Experience: Proven track record in the global biopharmaceutical industry particularly in clinical development and medical affairs.

  • Leadership Skills: Strong people-management experience with the ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams and senior leaders while building strong alignment and partnerships.

  • Analytical Acumen: Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize data into actionable strategies.

  • Therapeutic Expertise: Deep knowledge in therapeutic areas such as oncology infectious diseases or vaccines.

  • Project management skills with intellectual curiosity and the ability to create a vision as well as execute and lead complex strategic and operational initiatives in matrix structures

  • A working knowledge of business processes including strategic planning and budgeting management

  • Demonstrated organizational skills including ability to set goals and align priorities

  • Knowledge of Swedish is preferable but not mandatory
