JOB DETAILS

JOB BAND: C
CONTRACT TYPE: Permanent Full-time
DEPARTMENT: BBC Nations BBC Corporate and Community Affairs (Northern Ireland)
LOCATION: Broadcasting House Belfast
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: Up to 45000 depending on relevant skills knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Join the BBCs Corporate Affairs team in Northern Ireland in a newly created role thats all about community engagement. Youll have responsibility for special BBC projects and events helping to support the BBCs local partnerships and stakeholder liaison. Youll also help to facilitate our conversation with audiences about BBC Charter Review. You will work closely BBC editorial teams promoting their work and the difference that it makes to community life and be part of UK-wide initiatives.

Innovation and creativity are at its core seeking to serve BBC audiences better. And it requires flexibility resilience and whole team effort. As a Communications Advisor youll be closely involved in creating big BBC moments helping to maximise their local impact and developing your own skills and expertise.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:

  • The development and delivery of BBC Corporate activities and events including stakeholder engagement
  • Work to support local BBC partnerships extending their reach impact and effectiveness
  • The planning and delivery of activities linked to BBC Charter review
  • The development of briefing papers on key issues affecting the BBCs work in Northern Ireland and Corporate correspondence
  • Work to support the Head of Corporate and Community Affairs with stakeholder liaison BBC accountability and special projects

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Strong background in the development and delivery of events for diverse audiences
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including experience of producing concise written briefs
  • A developed interest in the BBCs work including its output governance and local political context
  • The ability to think/work strategically prioritising effort and resources and delivering against deadlines
  • Experience in the use of digital media to promote activities and events

DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:

  • Experience in dealing with audience/customer complaints
  • Experience of handling FOIA requests and related issues
