As a Snr ACES Manager (PMO) you will have an integral part in further developing and scaling the governance structure and framework for programs and projects that PMs in all EU Amazon Transportation teams will utilize. This framework will support PMs in managing projects for their team and will integrate with the Change Management process that guides implementation of operational process changes.
You will partner with PMs and leaders of the organization to help them i) identify gaps in their project roadmap vs commitments ii) identify risks and report on opportunities to leaders iii) unblock project progress with the help of the PM network and iv) actively develop the PM community. Youll be essential in making PMO services more efficient and project management for the organization more straightforward helping teams achieving strategic goals. Snr ACES Manager (PMO) is part of the Operational Excellence Learning and ACES (Amazon Customer Excellence System) Transportation team and will work with PMs that deliver programs across the EU Amazon Transportation network.
The role has i) EU scope ii) requires collaboration with vertical and horizontal functions and iii) works closely with counterparts across regions. Snr ACES Manager (PMO) works with PMs to i) continuously improve the quality of project results ii) simplify the way how projects are managed via guided workflows and iii) refine project and program reporting. The role requires 20-30% travels across EU.

Key job responsibilities
Further simplify and automate the project governance structure and project templates
Improve the reporting solution that allows team leads to efficiently assess project progress and project health
Facilitate program prioritization
Highlight to PMs which projects require course correction
Support with unblocking project progress
Support teams to achieve strategic targets and/or goals by identifying project gaps
Work closely with vertical and horizontal partner teams to further integrate end to end
Develop PM capabilities in the organization
Foster a PM network across EU Amazon Transportation
A day in the life
You will report portfolio progress to senior leaders and connect regularly with PMs and PMO POCs to help them identify risks and opportunities in their programs. Together you will find solutions to unblock progress. You identify opportunities to further automate program and portfolio reporting and provide insights and recommendations to leaders. You work closely with colleagues to further optimize how programs flow through the project life cycle linking programs strategic planning and change management. You build scalable solutions and further develop PM capabilities across the supported teams.

The Amazon Transportation PMO team is part of EU Operational Excellence Learning and ACES Transportation team and serves the middle and last mile organization. Youll be welcomed into a diverse team that plays a central role in our success. The team exists to simplify the lives of project managers by providing structures and processes relevant to successful project and program management and to provide senior leaders with the insight they need to steer their organizations programs and achieve strategic goals.
A degree in business supply chain economics
Relevant experience in project management or management consulting including handling multiple ongoing projects
Relevant experience using Microsoft Excel for data analysis
Relevant experience of communicating with a wide range of senior stakeholders
Approximately 20-30% travel required
Experience in process improvement
Experience in analytical tool building
Recognized project management certifications such as the PMP/CAPM/PRINCE2
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies e.g. Agile Waterfall Scrum
Experience with project management tools such as Asana Microsoft Project etc
