Job Description
At Amazon were working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. US Consumables Finance is looking for an exceptional Sr Financial Analyst to join the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team. This role directly supports the senior leadership team within the US Consumables Product Family rolling up to broader North America Stores.
As the Sr Financial Analyst within FP&A you will
play a critical role in the business decision making process through driving key operating mechanisms and delivering relevant insights and analysis objectively. You will also drive continuous improvements to our processes especially through automation as we scale the business. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity is analytical detail oriented and will possess the ability to work well with cross-functional teams.
Key job responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
Drive daily weekly monthly and quarterly mechanisms to support delivery of business goals
Lead planning and reporting cycles with leadership teams
Deliver insights and analysis objectively to support decision making process using relevant data and benchmarks
Developing and refining Financial Reporting Models that scale across the organization
Gatekeeper for integrity and accuracy of Amazons data across various financial databases
Identify and drive opportunities to improve automate standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes
Executing Ad-Hoc analysis through Financial Modeling using a broad range of tools including Excel SQL and COGNOS; aimed at providing thoughtful business insights and improving the depth of performance reporting
- Bachelors degree in finance accounting business economics or a related analytical field (e.g. engineering math computer science) or Bachelors degree and 5 years of quantitative role (engineering process re-engineering quality assurance) experience
- 4 years of tax finance or a related analytical field experience
- 4 years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- Experience in financial modeling P&L management or analysis
- MBA or CPA
- Experience with cube engine tools (e.g. TM1 Cognos or Essbase) SQL and Data warehouse
- Knowledge of Tableau
- 4 years of identifying leading and executing opportunities to improve automate standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
