Job Summary: Clinton High School is seeking a highly motivated passionate and dedicated High School English Teacher to join our dynamic English Department for the upcoming academic year. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of English language arts curriculum effective instructional strategies and a genuine commitment to fostering a love of reading writing and critical thinking in students. This position requires the ability to create engaging lesson plans manage a positive classroom environment and contribute to the overall success of the school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach various levels of high school English which may include but is not limited to: English I English II English III English IV AP English Language and Composition AP English Literature and Composition and/or elective English courses.
- Develop and implement engaging standards-aligned lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Assess student progress regularly through a variety of methods provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate records of student performance.
- Foster a positive inclusive and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Utilize a range of instructional techniques and technology to enhance student engagement and understanding.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues administration parents and the community to support student success.
- Participate in departmental meetings professional development opportunities and school-wide initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with students parents and guardians regarding academic progress and behavioral expectations.
Qualifications:
- Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate in Secondary English (Grades 9-12).
- Bachelors degree or higher in English English Education or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current English Language Arts standards and best practices in education.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners including students with diverse backgrounds and learning challenges.
- Proficiency in educational technology and a willingness to integrate it into instruction.
- Excellent organizational and classroom management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.
