Job Description
VISTA Technology Services Inc. (VISTA) is seeking an Unmanned Maritime System Mechanical Engineer to support our NAVSEA customer at Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC) Oxnard/Port Hueneme CA.
Responsibilities:
- Work as a team to ensure the customer accomplishes its project goals within budget as we improve warfighting capability in the maritime domain
- Apply engineering and project management experience to help ensure success through careful analysis and effective communication
- Implement and maintain organizational programs in support of Unmanned Maritime Systems
- Work with key stakeholders to review procedural documentation
- Assist with tactical planning using resources like MS Project and regular interactions with SMEs and schedulers
- Travel when required for testing at various locations collaboration with partner organizations and attendance at conferences or workshops
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering
- Experience with underwater vehicle design and development
- Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD
- Knowledge of fluid dynamics and material science
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
- Active DoD Secret Clearance
Desired Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Project Management Certification such as PMP Certification
- Experience with UUVs or other underwater robotics
- Experience with simulation software such as ANSYS or MATLAB
- Experience with advanced manufacturing techniques such as 3D printing
- Experience with naval operations and protocols
- Knowledge of electrical systems and integration
- Possession of excellent problem-solving and detail-oriented skills
- Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills
Salary at VISTA is determined by various factors including but not limited to location the individuals particular combination of education knowledge skills competencies and experience as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61000.00 to $141000.00(annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of VISTAs total compensation package for employees.
