What Youll Do

As a Software Engineer II in the Data Archival and Retention team you will play a crucial role in improving Mimecasts offerings quality and customer satisfaction. Your responsibilities will include:

• Develop and deliverhigh-quality sprint tasks contributing to high quality robust and scalable solutions.
• Perform peer reviewsof your team members deliverables fostering collaboration and a focus on quality.
• BuildREST-based microservicesusing Java (Java 11 and above) and leverage AWS services for modernized cloud-native applications.
• Contribute to our drive of Modernizing legacy systems transitioning to AWS to improve reliability scalability and cost-efficiency.
• Actively contribute to aculture of learning innovation and teamworkwithin the organization.
• Create and maintaintechnical documentationfor architectures processes and procedures ensuring clarity and accessibility.
• Participate incritical incident supportand implement preventive measures to minimize disruptions.
• Analyze and optimize AWS usage recommending cost-saving strategies without compromising performance or reliability.
• Writeresilient secure and efficient codeto minimize downtime while ensuring top-notch performance.

What Youll Bring

• Proven expertise in Java development with a strong understanding of Java 11 and experience in building scalable backend systems.
• Comprehensive knowledge in design concepts and experience in building complex systems
• Hands-on experience designing and maintainingKafka-based event-driven architectures.
• A strong foundation inAWS servicessuch as ALB ECS S3 ElastiCache IAM CloudWatch and S3 Glacier with the ability to design cloud-native applications.
• At Mimecast we leverage the latest technologies including the AI revolution. Experience with AI tools that enhance productivity is highly desired.
• Experience inmodernizing legacy systems with a focus on optimizing performance scalability and cost-efficiency.
• Proficiency inCI/CD pipelinesusing tools like Jenkins ensuring efficient delivery of high-quality software.
• Strong database expertise including experience withrelational and NoSQL databases along with skills in database design optimization and management.
• Proficiency inInfrastructure as Code (IaC)tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• The ability to work collaboratively in a team-focused environment fostering apositive and supportive culture.
