Job Description
Registered Nurse Labor & Delivery (Night Shift)
Location: Athena Medtech
Department: Labor and Delivery
Shift: 3 x 12-hour shifts/week Monday to Friday 7:00 PM 7:30 AM
Hours Per Week: 36
Experience Required: Minimum 5 years of Labor & Delivery experience
Employment Type: Contract/Traveler
Athena Medtech is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Labor and Delivery team for the night shift. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of five years of direct L&D experience demonstrating advanced clinical skills and a strong commitment to providing exceptional maternal and newborn care.
Key Responsibilities:-
Implement monitor and evaluate individualized care plans for laboring and postpartum patients.

Assess maternal and fetal well-being respond promptly to complications and initiate appropriate interventions.

Accurately document and communicate patient status treatments and progress.

Serve as a central point of coordination among physicians midwives anesthesiologists and neonatal staff.

Safely carry out physician orders and perform routine and emergency procedures as needed.

Assist with labor support delivery recovery and immediate newborn care.

Collaborate with care teams to ensure smooth discharge planning and education for new families.

Active RN license in good standing

Minimum of 5 years recent experience in Labor & Delivery

Strong critical thinking communication and problem-solving skills

Proficiency in fetal monitoring and obstetric emergency response

BLS certification (ACLS and NRP preferred)

Familiarity with electronic health records (Epic preferred)
