Job Description
Registered Nurse Outpatient Infusion (Oncology)
Location: Athena Medtech
Department: Outpatient Infusion Center
Schedule: Monday through Thursday 8:00 AM 2:30 PM
Hours Per Week: 32
Experience Required: Prior infusion and oncology experience required
Licensure: Active Rhode Island or multistate RN license
Athena Medtech is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Outpatient Infusion Center. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in oncology infusion therapy with the ability to provide safe and empathetic care to a diverse adult and geriatric patient population. This is a part-time opportunity offering 32 hours per week Monday through Thursday.
Key Responsibilities:-
Administer chemotherapy biotherapy and supportive infusions according to clinical protocols and safety standards

Monitor and assess patient responses to treatment and document patient conditions and nursing interventions

Collaborate with oncologists pharmacists and care teams to ensure coordinated and timely care

Educate patients and families on infusion therapies side effects and post-treatment care

Carry out physician orders accurately and promptly

Assist with discharge planning and follow-up care coordination

Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Rhode Island or valid multistate license

BLS and ACLS certification required

Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Certification required within one year of hire and must be maintained

Completion of current Fundamentals of Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Administration required

Proficient in English with excellent communication and patient education skills

Proven ability to care for young adult adult and geriatric oncology patients in a specialized infusion setting

Oncology nursing experience

Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR)

Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a team-focused environment
