Job Summary:
This role involves conducting qualitative risk assessments for projects within a portfolio evaluating risks against established thresholds and reporting findings to stakeholders. The analyst will review project data score risks using a provided methodology compare scores to the organizations risk appetite and create detailed reports summarizing the analysis. The position is primarily on-site in White Plains NY with a possibility of a hybrid schedule depending on business needs but remote work privileges are subject to revocation.

Responsibilities:
- Review project data and gather information from subject matter experts to understand potential risks.
- Evaluate and score risks for each project using the provided methodology and scoring tool.
- Document justifications for assigned risk scores.
- Compare calculated risk scores to the organizations risk appetite.
- Identify projects exceeding meeting or falling below risk appetite thresholds.
- Prepare detailed reports summarizing risk scores and analyzing risk levels across the project portfolio.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Bachelors degree in Risk Management Business Administration Finance Economics Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in risk management.
- Proven experience in risk identification and assessment.
- Experience in preparing detailed reports on risk assessments for stakeholders.
- Qualitative risk assessment skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience collaborating with stakeholders.
- Proficiency in risk assessment tools and software.
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g. Excel).
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Understanding of industry best practices and familiarity with risk management frameworks (e.g. COSO ISO31000).
- Proficiency in Power BI or Tableau.
Special Considerations:
- Must be local to the Tri-State area and a W2 employee.
- Fully remote work is prohibited; hybrid schedules are permissible but subject to change based on business needs and performance.
- Must have adequate personal equipment and internet connection for hybrid work. Lack thereof may result in revocation of hybrid work privileges.
- NYPA does not provide laptops; only desktops and dedicated workstations are provided.
- Vendors must disclose foreign national status and all visas.
- Benefits waiver and ethics disclosure required during onboarding.
- Overtime is not permitted unless authorized in advance.
Scheduling:
- Monday-Friday 7.5-hour workday with a 0.5-hour unpaid lunch.
- Paid for time worked only; no paid holidays vacation or sick days.
- Hybrid schedule (minimum 3 days on-site) is possible depending on assignment and business needs but remote access can be revoked.
