Job Summary:
This role is for an X-Ray Technician in an acute care hospital setting. The position requires providing skilled imaging services to patients operating imaging equipment and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Specific duties will include patient preparation and positioning image acquisition and processing and adherence to hospital protocols. The candidate will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.

Responsibilities:
- Patient preparation and positioning for various imaging procedures.
- Operation of X-ray equipment and other imaging modalities.
- Image acquisition and processing adhering to hospital protocols.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals (e.g. physicians nurses).
- Adhering to radiation safety protocols.
- Performing quality control checks on equipment.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active X-Ray Technician license.
- Current BLS certification.
- Proficient in operating X-ray equipment.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience in an acute care hospital setting.
- Knowledge of different imaging modalities (e.g. fluoroscopy CT).
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Experience with various types of patients (e.g. pediatrics geriatrics).
Special Considerations:
- Shift start times vary from 7 am to 12 pm with potential for graveyard shifts (9:30 pm or 10 pm).
- Every other weekend work is required.
- Floating between units is required.
- Block scheduling may be possible per manager discretion.
- New graduates are accepted.
- RTO must be included at time of submission.
