Job Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Plant Head / GM - Operations to lead and manage all aspects of operations at Plant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end plant performance across production quality maintenance safety delivery and cost metrics with a strong focus on team management and customer satisfaction.
Location:Plant 1 Bhosari MIDC Pune
Key Responsibilities: Plant Operations Management- Lead and manage day-to-day plant operations to meet production targets quality standards and delivery schedules.
- Oversee the functioning of all machines and tools.
- Ensure machine uptime through robust preventive and breakdown maintenance processes.
- Coordinate with the central PPC team to create achievable daily and weekly production plans.
- Review and monitor shift-wise productivity machine utilization and OEE.
- Ensure optimum manpower allocation across shifts.
- Ensure adherence to IATF 16949:2016 ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Drive defect-free manufacturing and take corrective/preventive actions for any customer or in-house quality issues.
- Lead and support audits (internal and external).
- Lead a team of production engineers supervisors operators and maintenance personnel.
- Drive discipline training motivation and team performance.
- Coordinate with HR for manpower planning and absenteeism control.
- Enforce all safety and environmental policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety drills toolbox talks and incident reviews.
- Implement Lean 5S Kaizen and other productivity improvement initiatives.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to reduce rework breakdowns and downtime.
- Monitor plant-level operational costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with the store and purchase departments to optimize raw material and consumable usage.
- Work closely with Quality Maintenance Supply Chain HR and Commercial teams.
- Act as the point of contact for key customer visits audits and communication related to Plant 1 operations.
