Wireman Job Description
Duties:
Successfully assemble install and wire to completion equipment used in the railroad signaling industry including signal equipment enclosures and associated sub-components wayside signals switch machines meter services and power distribution cases.
Must be able to read railroad signal design blueprints and translate the information to successfully assemble and wire these items according to predetermined standards while maintaining compliance with safety procedures.
Experience/Skills Required:
Ability to perform the following task: Layout Back Boards Gates Lights Meter poles and tags.
Associates degree from an accredited electronics or technical school preferred
1-2 years experience with electronics required
A good general knowledge of the types of materials equipment and devices used to make up railroad signal systems preferred
Must possess a valid driver license
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Must have strong reading and writing skills
Working Conditions: Inside the construction and wiring facility having limited climate control.
FLSA Status & Hours: Non-Exempt 40-hour work week subject to overtime and weekend work.
Salary: BR9 -BR1 Hourly / M Band - Technician Production Operations II (direct)
