Notes:
- Must be local to Boston MA
- 2 interview rounds: 1 Zoom 1 in-person
- Visa: Any status accepted (US Citizen GC H4-EAD L2)
- Look for solid 7 years in the USA with NAME BRAND companies and at least one role in Investment Banking
- Focus: Java developers with LINUX/UNIX experience (NOT Windows)
- Candidates should have Java Linux as most Java devs are on Windows
Job Description:
The Java Developer is a member of the Global IT Regulatory team whose focus is supporting project-based solutions that are critical to internal customers and external regulators.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Work with development manager and key stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop moderately complex technical solutions
- Collaborate with the team to support existing functionality and implement new solutions
- Draft and review technical diagrams and specifications
- Conduct code reviews
- Share experience and improve team productivity
- Recommend improvements to architecture and codebase
- Adhere to Morgan Stanley policies
Required Skills:
- 3 years of Core Java
- Integration Technologies: Spring Boot Microservices MQ JSON XML
- Working knowledge of scripting languages: Perl Unix Shell Python
- Strong SQL writing skills (DB2 Snowflake)
- Java Unix/Linux platform experience
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with:
- Drools Rule Language (DRL)
- DevOps CI/CD (Jenkins Gradle Maven BitBucket GitHub Pipelines)
- Workload Automation Tools: Autosys Control-M
- Crystal Reports/Excel Writer/Aspose
- JavaScript Angular
- Understanding of:
- Object-Oriented Design & Programming
- Enterprise Architecture Patterns
- GoF Design Patterns
- Portfolio accounting and trade lifecycle concepts
- Experience in the Investment Management industry
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Analytical and design thinking with attention to detail
