Job Description

Introduction to the job:


As our Upgrade Install and Relocation Engineer you will be part of a team of engineers who help our Customer Support (CS) organization install repair and maintain ASML systems at customer sites. You ensure that our chipmaking systems work as they should and be part of the technology innovation thats moving the world forward.

Roles and responsibilities:


In this role youll be a Systems Integration Engineer (SIE) technical specialist who is expected to calibrate and qualify the machine on site according to a pre-defined test-sequence similar to the tests that have previously been performed in Veldhoven. You will work with co-workers and the customer in isolating and solving problems as well as acting as a resource for users on routine malfunctions. Youll be responsible for performing administrative and coordination duties including pass-downs work orders field service reports system problem reports and monthly reports as well as preparing written technical reports on an independent basis.

Youll report to the Senior Team Lead but youll also be part of the larger Customer Solutions & Support sector where the in-fab installation and optimization of ASML products happens.

As an Upgrade Install and Relocation Engineer youll:

  • Assemble and qualify the machine on site according to procedure in a pre-defined sequence.

  • Build install and align components to a complete machine.

  • Install ASML equipment at customer locations including equipment with new features pilot and proto systems.

  • Analyze applicability accuracy and adherence to design specifications.

  • Recommend design changes or substitution of materials when appropriate.

  • Evaluate and diagnose problems and make appropriate repairs.

  • Work with co-workers and the customer in isolating and solving problems.

  • Answer customer questions and assist customers in a professional manner.

  • Provide if appropriate support and assistance to less experienced ASML or local personnel as necessary.

  • Perform complex adjustments perform upgrades diagnose and solve problems with limited support.

  • Prepare written technical reports if required.

Education and experience:

  • Bachelors degree in relevant Technical Field (Electrical Technology Mechatronics Mechanical Engineering etc.) or equivalent combination of education skills and experience.

  • Minimum 1 years experience in semiconductor industry preferred.

  • Minimum 1 years Field Service Engineer work experience preferred.

  • Minimum 1 years experience in using computer applications including data analysis tools word processing spreadsheet and presentation software preferred.

  • Specialized knowledge in the area of pneumatics hydraulics or electronics and semiconductor processes and relevant software.

  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of pneumatics hydraulics electronics semiconductor processes and relevant software.

  • Demonstrate computer application experience including data analysis tools word processing spreadsheet and presentation software.

  • Flexibility to expand capability in multiple technical competencies related to system upgrades installs and relocations including mechanical installs (MI) and system integration (SI) competencies.


Other information:

  • This position is a safety-sensitive position requiring the ability to operate heavy/complex machinery and work in a safe and alert manner.

  • Will be required to work a compressed work week if there is a business need.

  • Typically will work 12-hour shifts.

  • Ability to work flexible shifts including nights weekends and holidays.

  • Willingness to continue learning and growing in a professional environment is necessary.

  • Position will require access to customer site locations and requires familiarization with customer rules and policies regarding worksite behavior and safety.

  • Expect to spend more than 80% of the time inside the clean room working with electromechanical equipment.

  • Position works under the direction of a Manager Supervisor or Sr. Engineer.

  • Position will require travel up to 75% - especially during initial training.

Role within Office

Responsibilities:

  • Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard finger handle and feel; stoop kneel crouch twist reach and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

  • May require travel dependent on business needs.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
