It will envision and create learning opportunities beyond the walls of the High School. The position will be responsible for cultivating and managing relationships with external partners to enhance Georgetown High Schools resources and programs allowing students opportunities to explore career and college interests. They will also provide leadership and management of the schools comprehensive guidance and counseling programs. The overarching goal of this role is to broaden and enrich our students High School experience and ensure students are prepared for life beyond High School. Responsibilities: School Innovation and Partnerships: Collaborate with GHS staff and students to build and maintain the Anytime Anywhere Credit vision of the school and align the programming to the Georgetown Public Schools Strategic PlanSupport operational changes within the High School to enhance the programing including collaboration on the master schedule development and identifying and implementing a cycle of student interest surveys Actively seeks out and develops partnerships with organizations and businesses that will create opportunities for our students to explore and learn about career opportunities and earn elective credits Oversight of all internship and community service programming Create implement and ongoing management of the Anytime Anywhere Credit Program Fortify the partnership with local Community Colleges to expand the Early College Experience for Georgetown students Guidance:504 Coordinator for Middle and High SchoolsCollaborate on and oversee the development of the master schedule for the Middle and High School Organize supervise and evaluation of Guidance Counselors and School Adjustment Counselors in the Middle and High SchoolCollaborate on hiring and training the counseling and Links staffSupport the departments organization and monitoring the assessment cycle (MCAS) Advanced Placement testing and PSAT participation. Build and oversee data assessment cycles with the guidance team with a focus on identifying trends and needs of students and advocate for resources to support the programming Work with the counseling team to ensure that every student has a plan following High SchoolLead the schools Student Assistance Team (SAT) processCollaboratively create implement and oversee the student attendance initiativeDevelop a system for shared responsibility for student registrationDevelop and facilitate ongoing professional development opportunities for the guidance team and whole school as needed Work with teachers administrators parents and community partners to support student successFacilitate senior scholarship committee and junior Book AwardsEnsuring compliance with Massachusetts relevant laws and regulations Georgetown School Committee policies QualificationsMasters degree in counseling or related field Administrator DESE license5 or more years as a High School Guidance Counselor or relevant experience Workforce Development experience preferred Leadership experience preferred Strong communication interpersonal and organizational skills
