ACADEMIC PROGRAMS SPECIALIST Chemistry to support all aspects of the graduate admissions process including application tracking in Slate and releasing decisions. Serve as a key resource for faculty staff and students regarding academic programs admissions degree requirements and institutional policies; ensure compliance with academic guidelines and escalate complex issues as needed. Manage communications with applicants and coordinate the prospective student visiting weekend with the Assistant Director and Admissions Committee; oversee administrative processes for fellowship selection and awards; enter graduate appointments in the Graduate Appointment Portal (GAP) and address related inquiries; ensure appointments align with funding guidelines and the MIT Graduate Student Union Agreement; serve as the primary financial contact for the Chemistry Education Office; maintain and update Graduate Program web content and prepare official student letters; disseminate key information on deadlines events and graduation requirements; coordinate student-centered initiatives including orientation the Peer Mentoring Program and Chemistry Application Mentor Program (CAMP); assist with compiling the Graduate Student Guide and orientation materials; and may also support planning and communication of lectures programs and research talks.
