THE LOCATION
The Gross Reservoir has been known as the best kept secret in Boulder County and dates back to being built in 1954. This reservoir supplies water for the Denver area and regulates the runoffs from the mountains. The reservoir covers 440 acres and is a great place for boating camping fishing hiking and rock climbing. THE POSITION
We are looking for Security Officers / Gate Guards to join our team. This position will patrol the Gross Reservoir in Colorados Boulder County. You must be able to collaborate with the other members of our team to limit any potential risks. We expect each infraction to be thoroughly investigated and properly documented. Our ideal candidate has military law enforcement or security experience.
Job Functions
Security Presence & Defense: Serve as the first line of defense for client and site
Hazard Awareness: Identify and address safety concerns
Risk Assessment: Conduct ongoing risk evaluations
Access Control: Manage access to restricted areas and information
Guidance: Direct and assist patrons visitors and staff
Customer Service: Deliver positive interactions with a pleasant and helpful demeanor
Collaboration: Work with local law enforcement and other security personnel to maintain the highest safety standards
Incident Documentation: Record and report all security and safety incidents and concerns
Mountain and Seasonal Preparedness: Maintain situational awareness and adapt to remote and challenging conditions including adverse weather
Requirements
Employment Eligibility: Provide documents to confirm eligibility and verify authorization to work in the US
Age: 18
Education: High School diploma or GED
Attitude: Maintain a calm professional and customer service-oriented demeanor
Language Skills: Fluent in English speaking reading/writing. Spanish is a bonus
Screening: Ability to pass a urinalysis (site dependent) and criminal background check
Transportation: Reliable transportation to and from work (4WD highly recommended)
Tech Literacy: Basic technology skills and ownership of a working smartphone and accessible email account
Physical Ability: Can stand sit walk jog crouch bend over and carry 50lbs in a variety of weather conditions and work environments
Essential Job Functions
Provide a security presence at our clients site(s) to detect and deter all possible threats.
Must be able to perform a variety of fixed-post mobile or foot patrols while maintaining situational awareness and making decisions and/or taking actions consistent with established post orders facility rules guidelines and protocols.
Provide a first layer defense against active threats trespassers and unauthorized persons on site(s).
Visibly watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
Provide access control and the monitoring of entrances exits perimeters and surrounding areas.
Through roving patrols monitor vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Ability to conduct traffic control as needed.
Identify report delay or detain persons who violate rules and regulations.
Maintain a professional work environment which provides the highest level of customer service while maintaining the highest level of safety and security.
Ability to work independently and to adapt to various work-paces while always maintaining a high-level of attentiveness and energy.
Ability to work in partnership with local law enforcement agencies fire departments military units and local state and government agencies.
Safeguard and maintain highly sensitive and confidential information.
Conduct ongoing threat risk and vulnerability assessments at assigned sites.
Exercise sound operational judgment and flexibility to shifting priorities and challenges.
Provide customer service to our client by carrying out safety and security procedures site-specific policies and emergency response activities.
Respond to and submit reports on all security incidents.
Perform additional tasks related duties projects and special assignments as assigned by the reporting manager or client.
Qualification Requirements
Provide credible references and I-9 Employment Eligibility Documentation (legal eligibility to work in the U.S.).
Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Ability to perform job tasks in an extremely professional manner in a customer service driven industry.
Reading writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
Ability to pass a background check and have a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
Ability to stand and walk for several hours per shift.
Reliable transportation and proximity to site(s).
Basic computer skills.
Positive attitude.
Punctuality never late.
Must own a smartphone for scheduling and clocking in / out.
Experience in CPR first aid firefighting and crowd control is preferred but not required.
Previous security or law enforcement experience preferred but not required.
$23.50 - $23.50 an hour
