Job Description

Help get better trained personnel to the front line faster

Project Selborne is a Transformational Training programme with a strategic goal of modernising Royal Navy training to deliver better trained sailors to the front line faster.

The role plays a vital role in the Royal Navys Learning and Development Organisation (LDO) supporting service personnel with career transition lifelong learning and promotion-related education. Additionally you will support neurodivergent learners and those with Specific Learning Differences (SpLDs) promoting inclusive practices across the LDO and collaborating nationally to help all learners thrive.

This is a part time role working 26 hours a week days/hours flexible

Job Description:

What youll be doing:

  • Conducting L&D interviews and providing advice to help Service Personnel access education and professional development.
  • Delivering L&D briefings to local military units.
  • Planning and scheduling events for the Learning & Development Hub.
  • Managing and approving learning credit schemes for eligible learners.
  • Screening for neurodiversity traits (e.g. dyslexia dyscalculia dyspraxia) and refer for further support if needed.
  • Authorising exam concessions for individuals with neurodiversity or SpLDs.
  • Processing access arrangement applications (FORM 8) for external exams.
  • Creating personalised learning plans and offer ongoing support for neurodivergent individuals.

What were looking for:

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Hold a Level 3 or above teaching qualification

  • Hold or be willing to work a Level 5 qualification in assessing Specific Learning Differences

  • Hold or be willing to work towards a Level 5 Coaching qualification

    Be proficient in the use of IT including Microsoft Office applications (M365) and learning technologies
  • Ability to communicate with people at all levels
  • Ability to gain UK SC clearance

Desirable:

  • Hold a Level 3 or above learning and development (or equivalent)
  • Have membership of or be willing to join a recognised relevant Professional Body with the purpose of supporting learners affected by neurodiversity/SpLD
  • L3 Award in Coaching & Mentoring (or demonstrate equivalent practitioner level interviewing skills including active listening).

About Selborne

Selborne is a wide scale 12 year transformation of Royal Navy Training. The contract worth GBP 1 billion was awarded in December 2020 to a consortium led by Capita to deliver and modernise training for the RN. The consortia of partners known as Team Fisher includes Raytheon UK Fujitsu and University of Lincoln together with 14 other UK-based suppliers.
