Job Duties

The Virginia Department of the Treasury is dedicated to serving the Commonwealth by providing excellent financial management and outstanding customer service. We offer challenging and interesting work and a friendly and positive environment.

The Virginia Department of the Treasury is currently recruiting for a Risk Coordinator in the Division of Risk Management. The Division of Risk Management provides broad risk management and insurance services for the Commonwealth. This position will be responsible and serve as the point of contact of the units financial and administrative day-to-day operations. The duties of the selected candidate include reviewing and routing incoming documents filing preparing correspondence creating electronic records creating and running reports and scanning documents via document management application.

The employee will utilize their customer service and communication skills to respond to in-person telephone and on-line requests for information. The employee will be responsible for handling claims related financial transactions to include the set up and issuance of payments; preparing collections correspondence; and providing assistance to resolve issues related to claims-based accounts payable or receivable.

Minimum Qualifications

Prior experience coordinating administrative and support services or demonstration of the ability to quickly learn these tasks.
Experience providing exceptional customer service to internal and external customers via email and telephone including communication of process and procedures.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Considerable skill and proficiency in the use of computers and related software programs to include Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Access Powerpoint).
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
