Powers Catholic High School Flint Michigan is seeking resumes for a Multimedia Specialist
The mission of the schools of the Catholic Diocese of Lansing is the mission of Christ and of his Church to educate and form young people as disciples who reach their full spiritual academic emotional and physical potential. The schools are to be prayerful communities of witness evangelization and discipleship where the distinctively Christian way of life is modeled taught and lived.
Established in 1970 Powers Catholic High School provides a Catholic education to young people in grades 9-12. Powers Catholic High School strives to nurture every student spiritually intellectually socially physically and emotionally in an atmosphere centered on Christ and His Church which through service we are building the City of God on a foundation of faith and knowledge.
Position Summary
Were looking for a Multimedia Specialist with a passion for crafting smart strategic and stunning online experiences and digital content. If youre equal parts creative and technicaland can bring brands to life through intentional design intuitive user journeys and compelling visual assetsyou might be the perfect fit.
Youll primarily help build digital identities from the ground up designing and developing websites that not only look great but function beautifully. From wireframes to final launch youll integrate layout content structure and interactivity to make every scroll and click count. You will also contribute to other digital content needs as required. Staying on top of design trends best practices and user behavior is key and youre flexible enough to align with diverse needs and brand personalities.
Key Responsibilities
Web Design & Development
- Brainstorm and pitch original website concepts rooted in UX/UI best practices.
- Design thoughtful and on-brand website experiences for new and existing initiatives.
- Develop site architecture and wireframes with strategic content placement in mind.
- Apply consistent branding and storytelling throughout the full web experience.
- Conduct competitor and audience research to inform layout structure and functionality.
- Stay current on web design trends responsive frameworks and platform capabilities.
- Collaborate with leadership and strategists to align deliverables with business goals and user needs.
Web Design Execution
- Translate approved design concepts into high-fidelity mockups using Adobe XD.
- Build websites primarily on Squarespace with strong attention to detail and mobile responsiveness.
- Implement SEO fundamentals (title tags image naming content structure) to improve discoverability.
- Optimize performance through thoughtful file sizing load times and clean design.
- Work alongside content brand and strategy teams to ensure cohesive visual narratives.
- Adapt existing brand assets into thoughtful digital executions while proposing enhancements where needed.
- Actively participate in internal reviews incorporating feedback with clarity and professionalism.
- Support team members during QA and launch phases double-checking links formatting and UX integrity.
Technical Execution & Integrations
- Manage domain setup DNS configuration and SSL security across school websites.
- Handle platform transitions and site migrations with care to preserve SEO and uptime.
- Integrate third-party platforms such as CRMs scheduling tools forms analytics and e-commerce solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical errors related to site functionality forms and integrations.
- Coordinate with support teams or tech partners when needed to ensure all systems are connected and functioning properly.
- Document all launch steps and post-launch tasks to ensure handoff is smooth and comprehensive.
Social Media Coordination
- Execute social media strategies to promote Powers Catholic High School enhance its social media presence and boost community engagement.
- Create visual content (photos and videos) for web and social media.
- Manage the schools social media calendar.
- Analyze content performance.
- Manage posts and social media advertising campaigns.
- Engage in online conversations.
- Generate comprehensive metric reports.

- Create various digital visual assets for web social media and other digital platforms as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- 25 years of relevant experience in web design or digital design preferably in an agency or educational setting.
- Proven experience designing websites for external brands or organizations with a clear understanding of UX/UI principles.
- Portfolio that showcases thoughtful strategic and modern web design work.
Required Proficiencies & Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Adobe XD for designing page layouts and assets.
- Strong understanding of web layout typography hierarchy and user-centered design.
- Comfortable building and editing within platforms like Squarespace (Webflow and Shopify experience is a plus).
- Familiarity with mobile-first and responsive design standards.
- Ability to troubleshoot and adjust designs based on real-world testing and platform limitations.
- Proficiency in Google tools and applications.
- Knowledge of SEO fundamentals and how they impact design and build decisions.
- Familiarity with tools for task management communication and version control (e.g. Notion Slack Dropbox).
- Ability to proof all digital work before hand-off or launch ensuring clean pixel-perfect execution.
- Capacity to contribute conceptual ideas that go beyond the brief pushing client brands forward online.
- Basic HTML/CSS is a bonus but not required.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this position you will regularly walk up and down stairs sit stoop squat stand reach talk hear read write use a computer and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds. You will also interact closely with coworkers and parents during meetings throughout the school year.
Environmental Conditions
Must adapt to various environments. While most work is primarily indoors you may work outdoors or outside of school grounds for activities.
