The Geriatric Mental Health Inpatient Services provides culturally-sensitive and interdisciplinary assessment consultation diagnosis treatment and rehabilitation to its target population of clients 65 years of age and older. It consists of two busy 24/7 Geriatric Admission Units with a total of 48 beds. The units specializes in dementia care as well as serving clients with both long-standing and newly diagnosed psychiatric disorders including mood psychosis anxiety and concurrent disorders as well as psychiatric conditions which may arise from medical conditions or substances/ medications. The GMHS Inpatient Services strives for excellence in the provision of an integrated and coordinated continuum of services based on best practices.

The Geriatric Mental Health Inpatient Services is currently recruiting a full-time temporary Behaviour Analyst to work with clients on the Geriatric Admission Units (GAU-A and GAU-B). Reporting to the Manager and working as a member of inter-professional team the Behaviour Analyst will work within a recovery based model of care to provide inpatient behaviour analyst services to individuals who are 65 years of age and older with various mental health addictions and/ or neurocognitive diagnoses.

As a Behaviour Analyst you will be responsible for providing direct clinical care to both inpatient units including conducting functional behaviour assessments designing behavioural interventions and evaluating treatment outcomes. You will work within a bio-psychosocial framework utilizing evidence-based data-informed practices to address challenging behaviours and develop skill-building programs. You will also supervise unregistered or provisionally licensed staff ensuring high-quality care is provided. You will provide behavioural assessment intervention and evaluation for clients with responsive behaviours. You will work with the client family service providers and inter-professional team to develop and implement treatment plans that are tailored to the individuals needs. You will liaise with other services in CAMH community agencies and other practitioners to coordinate care for clients. You will be able to work with clients from diverse populations contribute to program development and provide education.
