Job Summary: A laborer is a general worker who performs a variety of physical tasks in support of manufacturing operations or maintenance activities. Laborers typically work under the supervision of skilled professionals and contribute to the efficiency and safety of job responsibilities as well as all other duties as assigned. Primary Responsibilities: - Perform general physical tasks such as lifting carrying loading and unloading materials and equipment.
- Clean by removing debris hazards and excess materials.
- Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision.
- Assist skilled workers as needed.
- Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Removal of excess skids and machining byproduct such as swarf and chips.
- Support all team members in chaining and moving loads.
- Preparing products for shipping loading and unloading trucks using specialty equipment such as cranes and tow motors.
- Deburring and root polishing of gear teeth.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Sandblasting and general maintenance of sandblast equipment.
Skills and Qualifications: - High School graduate of equivalent.
- Prior experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Experience operating overhead crane and tow motor preferred.
- Experience with custom/industrial/export packaging.
- Ability to follow direction and complete tasks as instructed in a timely manner.
- Capable of performing physical work requiring extended time standing walking lifting pushing pulling in a safe manner.
- Able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without accommodation.
