Job Description

Reports to: Director of Procurement

Works closely with: VP of Global Procurement Project Managers Project Engineers Pre-Construction and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Request receive and review bids from subcontractors and vendors.
  • Analyze and qualify proposals from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Make recommendations based on best overall value.
  • Develop and write scopes of work and supply.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and conditions of complex contracts.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Target areas of opportunity across assigned portfolio of projects.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate alignment with our unique corporate culture as codified by our Core Principles.
  • Read and understand requirements of owner contracts to identify critical flow-downs to include in the contracts to be issued.
  • Collaborate with pre-construction teams for the identification and evaluation of potential vendors assuring they meet all owner requirements and specifications.
  • Create change/purchase orders for projects.
  • Ensure vendor compliance with all assigned project contracts.
  • Resolve disputes while maintaining relationships.
  • Assure all vendors and subcontractors agree to our Quality and Safety Standards.
  • Build and execute the hand over process of all contracts to the projects team.
  • Travel is required on occasion. (ex: site visits vendor visits conferences etc.)

Key Knowledge/Skills:

  • Strong writing skills (technical or other writing experience)
  • Understanding of the construction project management process.
  • Knowledge of contract terminology structure and content.
  • Solid negotiating skills: Ability to influence others.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to think outside of the box in order to provide value added solutions.
  • Ability to gather information and confidently make decisions.
  • Ability to take ownership of assigned responsibilities. Driven self-motivated and organized.
  • Advanced MS Office skills.
