You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailDepartment of Public Health - Community Health Services Division has an opening for an Application Worker (Referral Coordinator) to work at the Downtown Public Health Centers. The Referral Coordinator position falls under the Application Worker job classification with specific assigned duties that provide administrative support to our referral work process and flow. They are responsible for assisting our clients to connect with specialty medical care and treatment as prescribed by their primary care provider. This work includes but is not limited to obtaining insurance authorization and eligibility assisting client with obtaining financial assistance from insurance plans and community services such as project access and charity care. The two primary care clinics process a large volume of referrals approximately 600 or more referrals per month with an average of 1-3 calls per referral.

Our clinic-based referral coordinators connect our clients to needed specialty services across the County. The Referral Coordinator is the critical staff member who aids clients in navigating the complex health care system and other community and healthcare related financial resources to maintain optimal health. The successful candidate will have ability to engage clients from a variety of cultures excellent communication skills strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently while developing and maintaining relationships with clinic providers and community partners.

Typical work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. This position is subject to the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is overtime eligible.
Work Location
This position will be based at the Downtown Public Health Center located at 2124 4th Ave Seattle WA 98121.
Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
