The weTHRIVE lab in the psychology department at Prairie View A&M (PVAMU) is a trauma and health disparities lab with the goal of decreasing the psychological sequelae that result from trauma. Recently Dr. Salami the Director of the weTHRIVE lab received a governors Office grant. Dr. Salami is looking to hire two undergraduate students to help with this project and to help with other lab-related duties as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating original documents for the program and learn the ends and outs of the intervention so that they will be able to assist graduate assistants in any way necessary during the intervention without disrupting the flow of the intervention.
- Website and supplies management and other administrative duties.
- Recruitment and data collection and entry
- Ensure groups are running smoothly by tracking participation sending out handouts helping to filter questions.
Required Education and Experience:
- Presently enrolled at Prairie View A&M University for at least nine (9) graduate or six (6) undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done.
- Must be in good academic standing (SAP) as demonstrated through your college; minimum 2.0 GPA
- No prior experience necessary
- For work eligibility during a summer term a student must be enrolled for at least three (3) graduate or undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done or preregistered at least six (6) undergraduate semester hours for the fall/spring terms.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Minimum 3.5 GPA
Preferred Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to type accurately. Organized and can communicate effectively. Must possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Word PowerPoint Excel and SPSS and a familiarity with computers.
