Job Description

The Parts & Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate computerized MRO inventory levels source venders issuing purchase orders and assuring timely delivery of parts. Additional responsibilities include monitoring supplier performance and providing reports on supplier effectiveness; assuring timely order receipt and dispatch of maintenance repair and operations indirect supplies; equipment asset management system (EAM) maintaining a computerized maintenance (CMMS) spare parts procurement receiving and inventory system to provide all machine spare parts facilities materials indirect manufacturing supplies and janitorial supplies for all company locations in accordance with their needs.

Essential Accountabilities

  1. Training of new personal on EAM
  2. Prepare timely procurement requests for maintenance repair and operation items tooling materials and indirect manufacturing supplies. Generate requisitions and purchase orders to keep the inventory of parts and materials as required by factory operations.
  3. Verify receipt of all MRO supplies upon their arrival.
  4. Ensure proper inventory levels and accuracy are maintained on all parts and materials.
  5. Maintain MRO materials and supplies in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  6. Analyze MRO parts usage and make recommendations to Purchasing on blanket ordering and pricing strategies.
  7. Coordinate the disbursement of all parts and materials to the various storage areas.
  8. Monitor the charging of materials and parts to proper accounts.
  9. Monitor supplier performance and provides reports on supplier effectiveness.
  10. Implements projects to reduce costs and limit inventories.
  11. Complies with all applicable safety regulations and keeps work area neat and orderly.
  12. Coordinate the shipment and repair of repairable spare parts.
  13. Complete inventory audits monthly reports and other required reporting information.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school education and 4 years experience working in a manufacturing environment preferably in inventory control or purchasing or equivalent.

OR

  • Associate degree in business related curriculum and 1 year experience working in a manufacturing related position.
  • Must have a Valid drivers license and a clean driving record.

Strong mechanical aptitude

Knowledge of basic production processes and equipment

High level of confidentiality where disclosure of information would have a detrimental effect on corporate activity

Extremely detailed oriented

Strong organizational skills

Strong computer knowledge including using Microsoft Office

Ability to safely use hand tools and powered hand tools including minor assembly work

Excellent communication skills with the ability to read write and verbally communicate in English

Strong use of time management

Position Requirements

Work Environment Conditions:

Inside: Manufacturing Environment Office

Outside: Occasional

Equipment/Tools Used:

Personal computer Fax phone copy machine printers software hand carts label makers hand tools powered hand tools EAM and Oracle

Physical Requirements:

Normal office Light work (lift 10 lbs): frequently - parts assemblies tools

Medium Work (lift 11-30 lbs.): frequently - parts assemblies supplies Heavy Work (lift 31-50 lbs.): occasional 3-4 time/week - parts assemblies supplies

Very Heavy Work (lift over 50lbs): occasional 3-4 times/week - parts and assemblies Other Physical Requirements: Must be able to move freely throughout the plants facilities and grounds.

Work with minimal supervision

Travel Frequency (in addition to seminars or related training):

Local: 20 times per year

Regional: 2 times per year
