Job Description

Do you enjoy collaborating with different partner programs providing and creating training on youth safety and managing compliance of programs for the protection of youth If these sound like your skills attributes and desires then you should apply for the position of Protection of Minors with University of Alaskas Department of Environmental Health Safety & Risk Management.

The Protection of Minors Manager should be well-organized responsible and have good communication skills. They should be able to learn quickly and be creative. A background in social work case management criminal justice compliance or risk management would be useful in this position. The Protection of Minors Manager should be able to collaborate with other programs have experience in developing training and knowledge of policy implementation.

To thrive in this role the Protection of Minors Manager should possess the following:

Knowledge of the principles practices and theories of risk management child abuse andmolestation prevention practices and regulations and be able to stay current with trends inthese areas.
Be able to read and interpret law regulation and policy as it applies to protection ofminors and develop mitigation to manage potential risks that may occur due to an activityassociated with a minor program or other University risks.
Must possess excellent writing skills be an effective communicator and consensus builderhave the ability to train staff faculty and volunteers on UAF policy and procedures as theypertain to minors and risk.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in psychology social work criminal justice or a similar field or a combination of degree and experience.

Must have or be able to obtain an Alaska Drivers license and travel when needed to UAF off campus sites including rural campuses and for training.

4 years or more years of demonstrated experience evaluating coordinating anddeveloping training on policy or procedural subject matter developing policies andprocedures for protection of minors University or K-12 experience or working with orcaring for minors.

Must be able to pass a background check.


Position Details:

This position is located on-site on the UAF Troth Yeddha campus in Fairbanks Alaska. This is a full-time exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary andfull employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options annual leave 12 paid holidays per year tuition waivers for employees and family members and affordable medical dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on theUA Staff Salary Schedule Grade 79 based on education and experience.
