Amazon is seeking an exceptional HR leader to build and drive our HR strategy for the Global Data Center Planning and Delivery (DCPD) organization. This pivotal role demands a data-driven innovator with a customer-first mindset who will elevate organizational effectiveness and implement strategic HR programs across our global operations. The Sr. Manager Human Resources role is both a strategic and hands-on role that provides full cycle Human Resources as well as manages a small team of global HR Business Partners. Key job responsibilities
- Develop and implement people plans and solutions in order to achieve people initiatives and deliver results.
- Partner with senior leaders and their leadership teams to develop the talent strategy needed to support our tremendous growth and build a work environment where employees can thrive and grow.
- Working closely with specialist central HR teams as well as matrixed site and international HR colleagues keep the right focus on assessing the HR needs in areas such as performance management talent acquisition career development diversity and compensation/rewards.
- Function as a consultant and counselor to key leaders and their respective organizations; engage in strategic planning meetings to translate business needs into HR plans.
- Partner with the business on organizational design workforce planning succession planning and skills assessment and development.
- Review and analyze business metrics including data on retention and employee experience in order to recommend systemic improvements.
- Partner with the business to lead Talent Reviews which focus on succession planning talent development and organizational health priorities.
- Provide compensation support including salary planning approval of salary actions promotions and job re-leveling.
- Provide management coaching to senior leaders.
- Lead and develop a small team of HR Business Partners providing mentorship guidance and performance management to ensure high-quality HR support across the organization. This includes setting team goals conducting regular check-ins facilitating knowledge sharing and fostering a collaborative environment to drive overall HR effectiveness and business impact.

This role is a key leader on the Data Center Communities team a part of AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) which owns all aspects of worldwide server network and Data Center (DC) infrastructure and works to ensure our customers enjoy world class performance security seemingly infinite capacity and innovative capabilities they cannot find elsewhere all at the lowest possible cost. - Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
- 10 years in an HR generalist leadership role preferably in a high tech environment
- 5 years experience working with global teams and driving organizational change initiatives and developing talent management plans for a global organization
- Able to travel domestically and internationally as appropriate
- Previous employee relations and talent assessment experience
- Demonstrated achievements in coaching influencing and problem solving.
- Depth of pragmatic experience with compensation planning negotiation and implementation.
- An ability and desire to own a space provide thought leadership and catalyze results.
- Strong judgment and employee relations experience.
- Expertise in assessing management and executive talent.
- Broad experience and specific knowledge of human resource theory including employee relations learning and performance management.
- Work experience in the tech industry or if not successful tenure at two different industries.
- Deep understanding of what great HR looks like and how business cycles influence the people agenda.
- Excellent business acumen and an ability to understand a P&L.
- Demonstrated achievements in coaching influencing and problem-solving.
- Effective Communication/Facilitation: The HRBP must be an effective communicator both written and verbal work with managers to send clear and consistent messages be an effective communicator in writing facilitation be able to drive change facilitate internal communication processes and facilitate dissemination of internal customer information.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $153100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $253200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
