Position Summary:
The Alternative Certification Program Director will support the Executive Director of ResponsiveEd 180 Educator Preparation Program (180 EPP) by directly managing and overseeing the budget and day-to-day tasks of the alternative certification program. The Program Director will work closely with the Assistant Program Director Program Staff and Executive Director of 180 EPP to ensure the scope and direction of the EPP is on schedule and will work with various departments to support the program development. The Program Director will work with the 180 EPP Executive Director to develop data and reports to be presented to the ResponsiveEd executive leadership team on the progress of program development and implementation.
Education / Certification:
- Bachelors Degree required
- Masters Degree (required) in Education or a related field
- Current and valid Texas teaching certification for 180 EPP certification area(s)
- Campus or program leadership experience (preferred)
- Current and valid Texas Principal certification (preferred)
Experience:
- 5 years of teaching experience in Texas public school
- Supervisory experience (preferred)
- Experience with instructional technology including online learning and data management systems (preferred)
- Certified as a T-TESS appraiser (preferred)
- Demonstrated knowledge of Teach Like a Champion strategies (required)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete all required training including but not limited to lead4ward Teacher Induction Training of Trainers Teach Like a Champion (TLAC) Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support Systems (T-TESS) appraiser certification Advancing Educational Leadership (AEL)
- Maintain an up-to-date budget for the program
- Manages security and oversight of confidential and auditable 180 EPP candidate data
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
- Collect analyze and report on program effectiveness and candidate success to inform strategic decision-making and support program growth
- Support the 180 EPP Executive Director in overseeing the program development and expansion
- Prepare and maintain program handbooks candidate applications and other 180 EPP materials
- Supervise the admissions process and monitor candidate progress from application through program completion ensuring timely documentation and support
- Supports 180 EPP Executive Director in the coordination and oversight of personnel to assist candidates on their path to teacher certification
- Work collaboratively with TCPA campus leaders to orchestrate field-based experiences and internship placement.
- Develop spreadsheets diagrams and process maps to document needs
- Provide timely progress reports outlining project status benchmarks and goals as required by internal stakeholders and external agencies
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of state certification requirements and ensure program alignment with Texas Education Agency (TEA) and State Board of Educator Certification (SBEC) standards and guidance
- Coordinates and schedules 180 EPP candidate eligibility for state testing (TExES) and certification (probationary intern and standard)
- Maintains accurate entries in state database Accountability System for Educator Preparation (ASEP) Educator Certification Online System (ECOS) and Title II federal reporting databases
- Stays current with Texas Administrative Code (TAC) and Texas Education Code (TEC) rule changes and adoptions and communicates necessary updates
- Work collaboratively with partnering campuses staff and campus leaders to support 180 EPP candidates and mentor teachers
- Participates in professional development online training sessions and in-person conferences provided by TEA and other relevant educator preparation affiliates
- Remains current on knowledge of ResponsiveEd and 180 EPP policies and procedures related to this position
- Leads candidate onboarding to program and supports candidate instruction and training
- Willing and able to travel to supervision sites within Texas
- All other related duties as assigned
