Key job responsibilities - Designing and developing large-scale multi-tiered multi-threaded embedded or distributed software applications tools systems and services using: Object-oriented design; and Java. - Create solutions to run predictions on distributed systems with exposure to innovative technologies at incredible scale and speed. - Build systems that are scalable fault-tolerant low cost and easy to manage/use. - Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems. - Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software. - Produce comprehensive usable software documentation. - Translate functional requirements into robust efficient supportable solutions that work well within the overall system architecture. - Participate in the full development cycle end-to-end from design implementation and testing to documentation delivery and maintenance. - Onboard and mentor junior development engineers.
About the team The WW Events Tech team at Amazon hosts Deals based events (e.g. Prime Day) Seasonal Events (e.g. Back to School) and Cultural & Community occasions (e.g. Black History Month). This team builds and powers high-volume automated technical solutions that scale for high traffic. You will be working closely with multiple teams to translate their business requirements to a tech solution involving APIs two way communication layer. You will also have the opportunity to design and build systems from the ground up to support events in Amazon.
- 2 years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience - Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
