Summary of Job Duties:
The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide direct patient care as a Clinic RN. This professional nursing role will require the ability to coordinate care for patients triage patients and work collaboratively with clinic providers fellows and staff. Requires the ability to effectively work with patient referral sources facilitate appointments coordinate transitions of care and provide patient education on complex conditions. The RN will work with the individual patient their families and providers of care to develop and implement individual health plans. This position is posted as a Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Come work with our wonderful group of Physicians at the UAMS Cancer Institute.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- Education general: Bachelors degree in Nursing Associates degree in Nursing Diploma RN or Masters degree in Nursing
- Must be a graduate of an accredited RN nursing program
- Minimum of one (1) year of Registered Nursing experience
- Valid Registered Nursing License
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Nursing
- Oncology Nursing Experience
- Current BLS National Nursing Certification
Additional Information:
Responsibilities:
Provides compassionate evidence-based nursing care to female patients undergoing cancer treatment including chemotherapy immunotherapy and hormonal therapy.
Collaborates with oncologists gynecologic oncologists and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Monitors patients for side effects and complications from cancer treatments and promptly respond to adverse reactions or emergencies.
Educates patients and their families on disease processes treatment options side effect management and self-care strategies.
Performs comprehensive nursing assessments and maintain accurate up-to-date documentation in electronic medical records.
Supports patients through all phases of cancer care including diagnosis active treatment survivorship and palliative care.
Assists with clinic procedures such as biopsies port access specimen collection and coordination of diagnostic testing.
Participates in quality improvement initiatives patient education workshops and staff training related to oncology and womens health.
May perform other duties as assigned.
