Pima County Parks and Recreation has a unique part-time opportunity managing the visitor center/community center located in Summerhaven on Mt Lemmon. The Visitor Center Clerk provides helpful information to the public at Pima County visitor centers manages the retail counter in the gift shop and performs clerical tasks such as word processing and data entry while assisting with filing records answering inquiries and ensuring a positive experience for all guests.
Essential Functions:

Provides general information to visitors regarding the centers services programs local attractions and other relevant information;
Assists visitors with inquiries guiding them to resources answering questions and directing them to appropriate staff or areas;
Receives processes and verifies payments for services ensuring accurate cash handling and issuing receipts;
Maintains and organizes records files and logs related to visitor services programs and center operations;
Performs data entry tasks updating visitor records reservation systems and other databases accurately;
Ensures that promotional materials brochures and informational displays are stocked organized and up to date;
Aids in scheduling and coordinating tours events or other activities for visitors;
Operates office equipment (e.g. phone systems printers computers) and ensures smooth day-to-day operations;
Assists with maintaining cleanliness and organization of the visitor center including restocking supplies;
Collects sorts and distributes incoming and outgoing mail for the center;
Types prepares and distributes routine correspondence and materials as needed for departmental purposes;
Manages the retail counter in the Gift Shop to include customer service transacting sales using the register restocking inventory performing inventory counts and overseeing the retail displays;
Performs daily cash drawer count with department staff at open and close of day per their shift;
Assists in the preparation and distribution of reports or other documents related to visitor services and operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate AND two years of experience performing office clerical tasks INCLUDING providing customer service to varied populations.

Minimum three (3) months experience providing customer service.
Minimum three (3) months experience supervising volunteers or employees.
Selection Procedure:
Pima County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates that meet the minimum qualifications. All applications will be assessed based on an evaluation of the listed education and experience. Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications may be further evaluated/scored against any advertised Preferred Qualifications. The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidates from a referral list provided by Human Resources. Additional assessments/testing may be required as part of the selection process.
Supplemental Information:
Licenses and Certificates: Valid driver license is required at time of application.ValidAZdriver license is required at time of appointment. The successful applicant will be subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review to determine applicants suitability to operate county vehicles in accordance with Pima County administrative procedures. Failure to obtain and maintain the required licenses and certifications shall be grounds for termination. Any offer of employment resulting from this recruitment is contingent upon Fleet Services review and approval of the candidates driving record.
