Job Description

ABOUT ST. DOMINIC VILLAGE A SENIOR CARE COMMUNITY:

St. Dominic Village is one of the leading senior care providers in the Greater Houston area. We are a faith-based non-profit continuing care retirement community dedicated to Caring for Our Elders with the Compassion of Christ.

As a ministry of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston St. Dominic Village provides a seamless continuum of care comprised of short-term rehabilitation skilled nursing care assisted living independent living the Archbishop Joseph A. Fiorenza Priest Retirement Residence and respite care services.

Double Weekends - Saturday - Sunday 6:00 AM - 10:30 PM

We are looking for a compassionate LVN to join our growing team! The Double Weekend LVN is responsible for nursing care of the residents in our Assisted Living Community including administration of medications and treatments receiving and transcribing physician orders monitoringCNA/CMA activity and care of the residents daily and communicating effectively with staff residents families physicians and all members of the interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities:

  • PROVIDE DIRECT CARE TO RESIDENTS
  • Admits & move-outs as needed
  • Monitor and chart vital signs e.g. (blood pressure temperature weight etc.)
  • Observe medications and alsocoordinate with other service providers like social workers and physicians to ensure that necessary medical services are received by the resident.
  • Educate patients and their family members in proper healthcare procedures.
  • Accurately report and record the patients condition and care including signs and symptoms which may be indicative of change
  • Prepare clinical/progress notes and summaries
  • Assist with the activities of daily living while teaching appropriate self-care techniques
  • Provide and maintain a safe environment for the patient
  • Follow universal precautions whenever giving any aspect of patient care
  • Follow emergency procedures in the event of any catastrophic event incident e.g. accident injury or significant change in the patients condition

Qualifications:

  • Be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing for licensed vocational nurses and possess a current license for the State of Texas
  • Proficient in nursing theory and practice
  • Proficient with drug actions and adverse reactions
  • Willingness and consciousness to provide quality customer service in keeping with facility standards of practice
  • Willingness to comply with and uphold the facilitys vision mission statement standards of practice and policies and procedures
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work in a team oriented environment
  • Must demonstrate initiative be a self starter with job duties assigned
  • Have a working knowledge of EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and computer literate
