The Position

As a People Relations Partner you foster trusted partnerships by balancing employee experience and company interests contributing to a positive work environment during key moments. You will provide proactive solutions coach leaders for early interventions and maintain a neutral stance to navigate challenges enhancing Roches reputation. The role involves addressing immediate issues while identifying long-term opportunities to improve employee experience. This position supports Roche affiliates in North & Eastern Europe with a focus on Italy and is based in Monza.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating and providing advice on a broad range of people relations matters including policy interpretation and application conflict resolution complex performance management and termination processes and practices

  • Work in partnership with Compliance to determine if any support is required for complaint resolution and as a point of escalation for any other complex complaints

  • Provide thought leadership to P&C and business leaders on restructures and reorganization and engaging internal and external partners and stakeholders to drive initiatives to conclusion

  • Advise on performance management issues that are complex contentious and are determined to carry potential levels of legal risk

  • Consult and supportreorganization/transformationsand strategic workforce planning exercises

  • Manage projects related to the People Relations key areas of responsibilities (e.g. restructurings negotiations with employee representations conflict prevention) resulting fromglobal/regional/localbusiness needs and participates in cross-organizational reviews of broad-based P&C programs

  • Manage the relationship with the local Unions proactively identifying issues requiring information advice or consent

This is the kind of expertise and experience you bring:

  • Solid knowledge and experience of Italian labor law and more generally the common principles of European employment law

  • Proven experience in an HR or equivalent position with deep know-how in the areas of employee relations and/or labor relations as well as a good understanding of performance management on a global scale

  • Extensive experience in leading negotiations with unions and proven experience managing business changes

  • Ability to leverage technology and data to generate insights as a foundation for diagnosis recommendations and decisions

  • Passionate about creating diverse inclusive work cultures with psychological safety while leveraging an enterprise mindset and strong consultation skills to collaborate effectively across global teams and leadership

  • You hold a degree in law and are preferably a lawyer

  • You are fluent in Italian and in English
