Housing - Delivering Vital Community Services
The Housing Income Team delivers day-to-day operational resources financial control business planning income management and performance management for the landlord service. The team is responsible for maximising income from rent service charges insurance and rechargeable works.
Your role will focus on arrears prevention but where necessary take action to recover the debt in accordance with the department policy and represent the Council in possession proceedings at the County Court. You will offer advice to help increase customers ability to repay outstanding debts and to monitor repayment agreements helping them to sustain their tenancy. There will be opportunities to be involved in project work alongside the Financial Inclusion Officer and Income Manager.
We are looking for a candidate who can negotiate and communicate with diplomacy and tact. Experience in managing rent arrears working in a debt recovery function or within a housing management setting is essential. You will also understand welfare benefits and current social housing policy and be a team player who can demonstrate excellence in customer service.
