Regent Universitys College of Arts & Sciences is seeking to fill a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position. This position will be located at Regent Universitys Virginia Beach VA campus.

Essential Functions: Critical features of this job are described below and may be subject to change at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reason.

  • Teach courses within the Engineering and Computer Science department at all levels both on campus and online.
  • Mentor students outside of the classroom in a variety of ways
  • Examples include serving as an academic mentor providing graduate and undergraduate research opportunities supporting student competition teams serving on committees and performing outreach and in-reach activities for the recruitment of new students and the retention of existing students.
  • Perform ground-breaking relevant research with the potential to build an exceptional national/international research reputation an interest in industrial collaborations and a passion for engaging and innovative teaching.
  • Support department service efforts that demonstrate a commitment to excellence innovation and integrity. This includes regular assessment and improvement of programs curriculum instruction and other efforts to support and maintain existing and future program accreditations and designations.

Qualifications:

Education

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering is preferred. M.S. in Computer Science Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering will be considered.

Prerequisites for the Job

  • Demonstrate proven skills in leadership research achievement and professional engagement.
  • Teaching experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced high-pressure environment with simultaneous multiple tasks.
  • Must possess critical thinking analysis writing and project management capabilities.

  • Must be fully supportive of the mission and direction of Regent University and the College of Arts and Sciences to develop and raise Christian Leadership to Change the World.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required. Ability to work independently and accomplish tasks based on knowledge experience and expertise within established principles. Willingness to carry out highly detailed work to completion.
  • Demonstrates the Regent values of excellence innovation and integrity.

Expectations include 1) a dedication to Christ-centered teaching and learning; 2) a record of or potential for academic scholarship; 3) the ability to teach undergraduate-level courses; 4) facility with online instructional technology; and 5) a willingness to embrace the College and University Identity and Mission statements and subscribe to a statement of Christian faith.
