Job Description
Project Superintendent
Spartan Contracting Corporation is a commercial contractor specializing in banking healthcare retail restaurant and fuel/convenience builds. The company is seeking a travelling Project Superintendent with extensive experience in group-up commercial builds to join our team. Experience in banks and convenience stores or other complex designs is desired. The Project Superintendent will coordinate and manage assigned job site activities for projects in the Greater South Florida and Central Florida regions. Additionally the Project Superintendent collaborates with project managers other superintendents engineers architects owner/vendor suppliers and other field personnel to deliver a successful project on time and on budget with the desired level of quality. Frequent overnight travel is required.
Location: Miami FL (Onsite/Regional office is located in Deerfield Beach FL) Candidates must be based in the Greater Fort Lauderdale Area be willing to relocate within 120 days of employment.
Travel Required: Frequent Travel Required; Travel to other regions may be required to support other team members and meet project priorities.

- Coordinate Subcontractor Mtgs
- Submit Daily Reports & Photos
- Ensure Job Site Safety & Security

2. PlanGrid / AutoDesk Build and / or ProCore

Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Valid Drivers License and Passing MVR Drug Screen and Background Check
- Willingness to travel frequently and work nights weekends and holidays as needed.
- Requires a minimum of 5 years experience as a project superintendent in the commercial construction industry preferably Bank / 7-11 experience; 5 to 7 years experience of combined education and work experience is highly desired
- Strong knowledge of construction methods materials and regulations
- 5 years experience reading blue prints and plans
- Experience managing multiple subcontractors equipment & materials suppliers
- Experience creating and generating RFIs reviewing and understanding submittals
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Bachelors degree in construction management or related field preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job the employee may be exposed to conditions that include weather such as heat and / or humidity and cold fumes or airborne particles exposure to dust and asphalt and moving mechanical parts. There may be occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. Conditions can also include the risk of electrical shock and risk of vibration. The noise level in the work environment can often be loud.
The Senior Superintendent is regularly required to:
climb stairs site and stand
and hear at normal levels.
with close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and have the ability to adjust focus.
with hands and arms.
hands and fingers to operate tools and other business machines
and / or move up to 50 lbs.
