Position Summary
This position is responsible for all aspects of the schools academic and operational policies objectives initiatives and is responsible for the attainment of short-term and long-term strategic and operational goals. The person should demonstrate expertise in a variety of the fields concepts practices and procedures and advise and recommend to the School Advisory Board with respect to such activities.
Responsibilities
The School Head serves as the overall leader of the school and is responsible for:
- Oversee school Academics through direction and delegation to Principal.
- Building the school culture based on defined core values policies and procedures that are in-line with the schools vision and mission.
- Developing implementing and monitoring long-term goals and strategies to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the school.
- Develop and foster positive relationships between various stakeholders (Board Administration Staff) and leverage effective partnerships with internal and external constituents.
- Establishing and enforcing policies and procedures that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the school.
- Providing leadership and support to the administrators and faculty and directing the overall operations and activities.
- Overseeing and managing the school budget through proper controls throughout the fiscal year to ensure optimal financial results.
Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Educational Leadership/Business Administration and Bachelors in Education or closely related field.
- Holds a Principal certificate or the equivalent issued by the TEA or another state.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of leadership and management experience in an Islamic school.
- Well-versed in Islamic Knowledge.
- Fluency in English with Arabic being a plus.

- Establishes a positive culture based on Islamic values and manners between all stakeholders.
- Develops service-based character among the students and staff.
- Explores/collaborates with other Islamic schools on curriculums and builds strategic alliances.
- Implements educational strategies to enhance academic achievement and learning objectives.
Planning Activities
- Develops operational strategies for the entire school and evaluates the efforts to ensure its effectiveness and efficiency.
- Implements the strategic planning and coordination of the school to advance shared School Board goals while communicating key messages to internal and external stakeholders.
- Plan school accreditation related activities and drive the campus development plan.
- Sets long term goals that become the basis for short term goals and annual operational planning.
- Establishes and streamlines procedures and processes in relation to school operations.
- School marketing and promotion
- Managing records and registration processes
- Overseeing systems and IT requirements
Staffing Activities
- Overseas as second-level Supervisor the teaching staff and directly the Principal and non-teaching staff through direct reporting relationships.
- Determines staffing needs and oversees the recruiting selecting hiring training and developing.
- Provides development opportunities and plans for staff based on structured framework.
- Identifies gaps in staffing needs and proposes plans to mitigate them.
- Overseeing Human Resources hiring/firing in collaboration with Principal/dean
- of Academics
Financial Planning Activities
- Financial management budget preparation tracking and variance analysis
- Tuition collection
- Overseeing financial aid program and arranging funds for qualified parents
- Develop a Scholarship programs for accomplished students
- Proactively managing school enrollment
- Managing pledges and collections
Organizing Activities
- Enforce compliance with school policies and state and federal requirements
- Works with key stakeholders structuring the resources and activities such that the both short-term and long-term objectives are achieved.
- Student arrival and dismissal processes
- Event planning and management
- Establishes the flow of authority and communication between position and levels.
- Implements measurements to ensure effectiveness and usage of resources.
- Partners with schools and universities to foster relationships between students and colleges to gain global perspective and broaden their educational experience.
- Leverages best practices that exist for private and Islamic schools.

- Driving operational excellence in all aspects of centers operations
Directing Activities
- Represent school in ISI board of directors and work closely with the school board.
- Oversees the professional development of all staff.
- Manages all funds physical assets and other property of the school.
- Provides direction and directives to the administration in the performance of their duties establishing priorities and in achieving objectives.
- Direct the operations and activities of administrators; see that they effectively guide and coordinate the operations and activities of the educational system
- Driving formulation of strategic plans
Controlling Activities
- Assesses actual performance against standards to determine whether the school is on target to reach its goals and takes corrective actions as necessary.
- Oversees proper controls to ensure that budgets projections are inline and balanced.
- Establishes and enforces policies and procedures that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the school.
- Responsible for ensuring a positive financial audit
- Reviews and makes appropriate adjustments in activities and expenses throughout the fiscal year to ensure optimal financial results.
