Wind Operations Manager
The PGE wind generating fleet is comprised of four distinct wind farms in Oregon Washington and Montana. Two of which are owned and operated by PGE with the other two being operated by Next Era.
We are seeking an individual who has experience managing the maintenance and operations of wind generating facilities with an emphasis in contract management. You will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance reliability and operational availability of the wind turbines by managing onsite resources either contract services and/or PGE full time employees at Biglow Canyon and Tucannon River wind farms.

Operates maintains and oversees replacement installation and removal of wind power generation facilities equipment and structures; identifies analyzes and implements predictive maintenance; maintains plant computer and control systems; and collects and analyzes operating data.

Key Responsibilities
Manage Plant Operations and Maintenance:
Manages a team of Site supervisors and Technicians responsible for ensuring that PGE wind generating facilities operate safely reliably and efficiently at optimal cost; provides plant technical oversight for the team ensuring that objectives are met and all relevant standards/procedures are followed; ensures that operational and maintenance problems are identified and resolved; ensures that fleet and plant procedures and working practices are current and fit for the purpose; oversees the performance management lifecycle for the team and for individuals. Manage plant performance to meet complex regulatory requirements and business demands; adapts operational strategy and tactics to meet changing market demands; manages the team to meet operational performance metrics; drives operational performance; develops and implements strategies around employee engagement safety and risk mitigation.
Contract Management:
Work with contracted service provider(s) to meet the business needs for maintenance and operation of the PGE wind facilities while ensuring the specifics of the Long-Term Service Agreement(s) (LTSA) for the contract service work is upheld.
Safety Leadership:
Drives adherence to fleet and plant procedures to provide for safe and effective operation and maintenance including but not limited to testing startup and shutdown and operating equipment in emergency situations; continually promotes and enforces safety practices and ensures all staff are competent in their assigned roles and complete required training; oversees development of safety culture within organization; monitors safety data and trends; leads/participate in root-cause analysis and implementation of mitigation strategies.
Functional Leadership:
Exercises comprehensive functional and industry knowledge in specialized areas; identifies and resolves complex multidimensional business problems; exercises delegated authority over site or functional teams direction and timely execution for a functional area or program; establishes and maintains contacts with management levels within and outside the company and at government agencies and with industry experts in accomplishing function or program objectives.
Financial Management:
Collaborates with Senior leadership in the development of the annual budget. Monitors and manages expenditures ensuring that all financial targets are met and examines any areas where budgets/expenditures vary from plan; assists with the definition and operation of effective financial controls and decision making.
Professional Development:
Reviews organizational development needs and training strategies to determine required learning and development outcomes for the team; provides guidance in the creation of development plans; monitors ongoing progress and provides coaching and mentoring and provides feedback; completes annual performance management reviews.
Operations and Maintenance Activities:
Manages the day-to-day operations of a utility-scale wind plant; responsible for ensuring maximum availability/reliability of turbines asset optimization and plant profitability; monitoring and reporting on substation operations; managing and participating in operations maintenance and warranty activities ensuring compliance with manufacturers requirements.
Compliance:
Ensures strict compliance with project environmental health and safety requirements; ensures required regulatory and technical training is identified and completed.
Trains Staff:
Responsible for effectiveness of the operations training program.
Resourcing: Implements resourcing decisions and planning for team; partners with HR in the definition of jobs recruitment evaluation and selection processes.
Education/Experience/Certifications
Education Typically a bachelors degree in engineering physics power or other related field or equivalent experience.
Experience Typically eight or more years in wind plant operations and wind turbine maintenance power plant or substation operations and maintenance or a related field; prefer budgeting experience.
Certifications Licenses and Training Prefer training in leadership development and in emotional intelligence.

Compensation Range:
$119840.00 - $222560.00Actual total compensation including a performance based incentive bonus is commensurate with experience skills qualifications education training and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
